Enjoy the Experience of English Tea in the Eastern Townships!

English Tea is a very present and shared tradition among generations in the English-speaking community of our region. Tea is much more than a beverage here, it is a ritual that invites us to take some time, meet and socialize.

The English Tea experience is only offered during the summer, from June 18 to August 20, 2023.

English Tea, a Part of our Local Intangible Heritage

In 2017, The city of Sherbrooke carried out an inventory of local traditions and rituals to be protected. From this inventory, 14 practices were retained, including the tradition of English Tea at Uplands.

English Tea at Uplands

English Tea is an important part of the history of Uplands: it has been served there for 30 years! Depending on the weather conditions, we serve tea in the gardens, on the veranda or inside the house. Our guides in period costume interpret this tradition, while serving the tea. Silverware and porcelain cups from the period are part of the experience!
